Josh Champion

Managing Partner

Josh Champion previously served as President and Chief Investment Officer of CARROLL, a vertically integrated private equity real estate firm. In this role, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the company’s investment platform, asset management, portfolio construction, capital raising, investor reporting and fund management. Josh was responsible for the formulation and implementation of the firm’s national acquisition and disposition strategies along with developing capital partner relationships. While at CARROLL, Josh spearheaded more than $21 billion in multifamily and mixed-use real estate transactions and raised over $5 billion of equity through discretionary funds, separate accounts, and programmatic joint ventures, and sourced and secured over $8 billion of debt financing. During his time at CARROLL, the firm realized gross portfolio returns of 29% IRR and 2.2x equity multiple.

Prior to CARROLL, Josh began his career at PGIM Real Estate (formerly Prudential Mortgage Capital Company) where he started in the debt origination group focusing on multifamily, retail, industrial, and office. He later worked in the Special Assets Group, where he assumed asset management responsibilities for multifamily and retail properties.

In addition to his role at BattleCreek, Matt Wilson is the founder of WDG Real Estate Partners, where he shapes the firm’s vision and strategy, driving innovative and high-value real estate projects across the United States. Under his leadership, WDG Real Estate Partners has become a trusted name in net-lease real estate, completing over 300 build-to-suit projects that meet the needs of tenants, investors, and communities alike. Matt plays a key role in collaborating with investors and landowners during the acquisition process and leads his team in delivering projects that maximize place value and long-term potential.

Matt is actively involved with Woodward Academy in Atlanta, The Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, and Northside United Methodist Church, reflecting his strong ties to the community.

David Wishen

Partner

In addition to his role at BattleCreek, David Wishen is a managing principal at WDG Real Estate Partners, focusing on executing and managing complex real estate transactions that deliver exceptional value to stakeholders. With expertise in over 200 net lease developments and more than 500 total transactions, David brings over two decades of experience in deal structuring, oversight, and execution across all phases of real estate investment and development. Before joining WDG in 2014, David was an investment banker in the Global Industrials Group at Credit Suisse in New York, where he and his team provided strategic advisory and executed mergers, acquisitions, and capital raises exceeding $21 billion for some of the world’s largest companies.

David earned his MBA with a concentration in Finance from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, where he was a Merit Scholarship recipient and was recognized on the Dean’s List for academic excellence.
